In the Part 1 of this series, I wrote about the awesomeness of freeby iPhone dictionary Kotoba!. This time I’d like to shill for an application that isn’t free, but definitely is worth the money! MySoju.com is a nifty little website that collects links to scattered drama series all across the internet. Catering to fans of Korean & Japanese TV dramas and movies, they provide an index of links to external video sharing sites such as DailyMotion and Vimeoh that host parts of episodes.
For example, if you wanted to watch Densha Otoko on MySoju, you just visit the Densha Otoko page on MySoju and click on the episode you want to watch. MySoju will then tell you where various parts of the episode are located.
If you don’t have a connection fast enough to support torrenting, or if you’re just trying to kill some time at school or the office or plain can’t-be-bothered to download an entire episode then this is a really nifty idea. Clever too, because MySoju aren’t hosting the material – they’re just pointing to it and leaving the onus on the video sharing sites to deal with the copyright violations and DMCA takedown notices.
Of course, some of those dramas and movies deserve to be taken down – a few cases in point.
